Erika is from Philadelphia, USA, and has been riding professionally since an early age -  mainly in show hunter and showjumping.  She has competed to 1m50 and been placed to 1m45, and won major championships in show hunter and show jumping in the USA.
In NZ Erika has competed up to 1m25 (on Karen Niederer's ex-eventer, Roannie) and is currently our stud rider and trainer. Erika has been competing TP Conversana for us - taking her from 90cm at the beginning of the season up to 1m20 (placed at her first 1m20).  She will be showjumping JK Latano this season as well.  She has also competed TP By George in dressage (the first time she has ridden dressage) for many placings.
Erika has many years of experience teaching and training different levels of riders and horses.  She is really great with kids and adults alike, is always encouraging without getting tense, and is a positive and helpful trainer.  She can get on and ride the horse or pony too (Erika is only tiny).  Students so far say they've learned more from her than many other instructors in NZ.

Andrea Raves is originally from Germany and has now been in New Zealand for more than 20 years. She has the German qualification of ‘Reitleher FN', is a Dressage NZ ‘A Grade Trainer', and is an ESNZ Grade 4 Coach and Assessor. In recent years she has been the recipient of several Prime Minister's High Performance Scholarships, which have enabled her to make trips back to Germany to observe some of the world's top trainers at work.

Andrea represented New Zealand several times at Grand Prix level in Australia with ‘Greendowns Fetterman', and has gained several National and ‘Horse of the Year' titles on different horses.

Since 2001 Andrea has been the Training and Rider Development Officer for Dressage NZ. For more than 10 years now she has been teaching in Young Rider squad programmes for Dressage NZ and has taught Eventing Squads.

Her teaching philosophy is based on the "Scale of Training" and "making a true connection over the horses back by dropping the base of the neck" is one key issue in her lessons. Without this connection there will be no collection!
She has written her philosophies down in "The Road to Collection".

Andrea travels throughout the country teaching from Northland to Dunedin.  She visits Tielcey Park, Hastings, Nelson and Blenheim on a regular basis.
